Dalton Hedgehog Hospital/Furness Hedgehog Rescue

Dalton Hedgehog Rescue has been in existence for 12 years. Mrs Irene Cannon started caring for sick Hedgehogs nursing them back to health and then releasing them. The nearest rescue service is Carlisle or Lancaster,  People are now bringing Hedgehogs from all over the County.
Mrs Cannon houses them in a shed in  the back garden of her home in individual nest boxes, with clean straw changed daily and they are fed on cat and dog food.
Mrs Cannon raises funds and relies on donations of straw, food and the kindness of family, friends and volunteers to make nest boxes.
The task of looking after them is time consuming and shows a lot of dedication and hard work.
