Though not a native of this area it was a positive choice for me to move to Dalton in 1996. I am involved as a volunteer in various local groups; Dalton Community Association; Dalton Fairtrade group; the National Trust and Furness Homeless Centre as well as duties as a Town and Barrow Borough Councillor. I have become a Governor at George Romney School. Being retired I welcome having the time to ‘give back’ to the community. Having grown up in a city I really appreciate the beauty of this area and the friendliness of its people. I will do all I can to preserve the uniqueness of Dalton, whilst not being afraid to look to the future and promote it as a vibrant and forward-looking town.
